UNMEN- Demo

I was very surprised to see this band had emailed me their demo. I was just checking them out a few days ago online and thinking they were pretty bad ass. These guys put out some really fast noisy grind. I really love the overall tone of this demo. The quality is super raw and distorted and sounds like it was possibly recorded on an old four track recorder, which i think is super rad! Anyways, some of the feedback in this album is really intense! Some of the most harsh feedback i have heard in a while actually. For sure worth checking out. The songs are all tied together with the feedback, it makes for a really nice flow. So get your hearing aids out and turn up them speakers!

Ill Advised- Demo

Ill Advised is here! All the way from KENOSHA, Wisconsin! This is a great fast as fuck demo! Really reminds me of the olden days back when i was a little street punk kid. (Yeah you know you were too!) Not that the people in this band are little street punks, its just really good fun music! A nice DIY fun sound to the recordings is always a plus. This demo is fresh off the press as it was just recorded a few weeks ago. I would say it reminds me of Surf Nazi's Must Die in a way or maybe Common Enemy. So cut the bullshit and join the circle pit!

Infection- Humanicide Demo

This is the second and final demo for the band, Infection. They were from Halifax, Nova Scotia. I would say they play a sort of Japanese sounding Disorder style punk. This demo is pretty interesting. Not to mention obscure song titles like "Unmelting the Cheese" and "The Ballad of Jordi Napalm the System Smashing Mosh Warrior". I would even say that it kind of reminds me of Sore Throat. I really liked the artwork for this demo as well. Gives it a nice DIY look. Give these guys a listen for sure especially if you are a fan of crusty bands that will make your ears bleed with joy! F.O.A.D.!!!

Severed Tongue- Demo

Severed Tongue is badass! If you are looking for something to blow out them fancy new computer speakers you just got down at the pawn shop, check this out. These guys really know how to lay it down. Throat ripping vocals, exploding guitar riffs, and one chaotic drummer stirring them all together makes this band fucking rule! What is really awesome about this band is that they come from Newfoundland, Canada, and are totally isolated from touring bands (the nearest place to play is a 13 hour drive + 7 hour ferry ride away). "We have our own little scene here with a handful of sick bands and that's about it. We recorded this demo after jamming twice." says, band member Robert. I would say this band is for fans of classics like Infest, Crossed Out, and a personal fav. Chainsaw To The Face.

These albums come to me all the way from Indonesia. "Titan" The dude who sent me these albums blog can be view here: Super Soul. This album really took me back to the days of when i used to be really into to old school hardcore. This is a nine track tape that was released in 2000. The sounds quality is absolutely perfect. A nice D.I.Y. sound, possibly recorded on analog equipment? Anyways, i think its really important that bands like this from other countries get exposure. The Drooling Slits are a good ol' fashioned punk rock. Sometimes its nice to put down the Warsore album and throw something like this on. They are from KANSAS CITY, Missouri. I do not know much about them, but this is there first EP. Its a really fun sounding raw album with songs like "I Hate School" and "Scared of Dicks". The guitar player of this band also really knows how to shred. Sort of reminds me of the same kind of style as The Skitkids. But yeah, for something i think everyone on this blog will enjoy. p.s. Sorry about the shitty quality album art, thats all that was sent to me.

They preform on the streets and using accordions, banjos, pianos, washtub basses, and scream until they can't scream anymore. With that said, i don't know shit about this band except they toured with Golgol Bordello once. This is some of the coolest shit i have heard in a long ass time. Treasure Box is my newest musical project. I play all the instruments and just record them on different tracks."I started this project based around the idea that music can be simple. Anyone can make and record their own music, in fact almost anything can be used as an instrument. So with that, one night i gathered up all the instruments i own, and set up an old computer of mine. Now i am recording my own music using free software, and an old computer microphone that came with my first computer in 1995. I encourage you to do the same. Currently i am working on making my first release, called The Swamp Mountain EP."

We’re talking old-school Napalm Style grind filled with catchy groove driven sections and relentless mid-paced blasts mixed with vocals that range from high pitched shrieks, powerviolence ranting and hardcore bellows. Arab on Radar were a Providence, Rhode Island based noise rock band founded in the mid-1990s. They disbanded in 2002. Members of the band went on to form or join the bands The Chinese Stars, Athletic Automaton, Made in Mexico. Enjoy!

Insect Warfare Discography

Insect Warfare was a grindcore band from Houston, Texas. Formed in 2004, they made their first demo “Gulf Coast Infestation” later that year. This earned them some interest from 625 records, which helped to release the following year IW’s next installment as a band, “At War With Grindcore” EP with 8 fast, heavy crust tracks on it. Alex Hughes quit the band and formed the powerviolence act Hatred Surge, later recording a split 7” through RSR with his former band. In 2006, another EP “Endless Execution Thru Violent Restitution” and another split with BOLT STEIN. In 2007 with their demo “Evolved Into Obliteration”, the band received more interest from other record companies, as this demo was their third release on their own. This ultimately lead to their first full-length album “World Extermination” released late 2007. It has been reported by the band that after 4 years of tearing up the international grindcore scene, their final performance will be at the U.S. festival Dudefest on June 21st. After this show Insect Warfare will be no more. “The IW “Noise Grind Power Death” noisecore 7” EP is our final release. fuck it, end it on a noise note.” I found this somewhere i cant remember where though, it was a while ago. Attention: You must download both parts!!!

First up is Mamie Minch, a modern female delta blues artist from somewhere in New York City. Sounds like something straight out of the 1930's, except her lyrics are pretty risque. Songs about drugs and eating cake.

Also is Sigh's "Hangman's Hymn"; Sigh is an avant-garde/experimental, female-fronted, japanese black metal band who, amongst other things, have a full brass section. The true definition of experimental black metal; full orchestral tracks right next to some of the most brutal blackened thrash you will ever hear.

One of the most skilled punk bands i have heard in a long time. Overall good stuff, although i must say the vocals are a little weak. Still overall great shit!

Hailing from the city of Chicago, the Raunchous Brothers are everything that modern crust punk isn't: profane, rude, chauvanist as all fuck, and most importantally, fucking brutal. with songs such as "Sexual Assault", "Women's Lib", and "Put it in Bare", the Raunchous Brothers combine misogynist lyrics with some of the heaviest riffs in metal, such as read here:

The Sounds are like an ABBA for the 21st century; more catchy than syphilis, and a lot more fun to boot. Not to mention a smashin' hot singer. They also have wonderful lyrics:

.NEMA- Bring our Curses Home

For some reason I can't shake the feeling that I already posted this, even though I can't find it in the archives. So if I did, tough luck. You fuckers get it twice.

.NEMA is a proto-powerviolence band from the small town of Milford, Michigan. Their singer, Shawn, is also now in a similar band located in Philadelphia called Stations; incidentally, I met this blog's owner at a Stations show in Detroit a few months ago. I also learned he's straight edge. Stewart, I love you in despite of your lack of intoxication! But anywho, .NEMA. Really good proto-powerviolence with a dark, progressive feel to it. A lot of people compare them to Citizens Arrest; they actually even do a Citizens Arrest cover, further cementing that comparison. They're reuniting in Chicago in late May to open for AMEBIX with Victims from Sweden and Tierra De Nadie. So check it out, download it, go see 'em in May.

Holy fuck, do I love Bolt Thrower. This is their first album, back when they were a grindcore/crust band. Heavy like a ton of bricks, and probably the catchiest title track in all of death metal. They're one of the headliners at Death Fest this year if any of you stinky fuckers are going.

Extensive research shows that the only recordings of those songs that exist are covers: Pap Smear was a Slayer side project that never actually made any recordings, but did in fact do covers of itself as Slayer on an album from 1996 called "Undisputed Attitude". AGE is a japanese punk/metal band that shreds the face off anything else that ever came out of that country, with the exceptio of Boris, Life and some black metal. Thrashy, punk as FUCK jam-influenced metal with ripping guitars, excellent musicianship all around. Again, if response is positive I'll post their other two albums. I'll let this album speak for itself; probably the only band I've ever heard that can somehow make jam metal sound punk. For all of you noise punk elitists, this is still noisy as hell; if Discharge had the power of an atom bomb, this is the sun going supernova in comparison.

Here's some good ol' punk rock grindcore for all you used-tampon, urine-fetish queens. Coaccion, from Tijuana, Mexico; straight-up in your face grindcore along the lines of Phobia, Infest, Spazz, etc. other early powerviolence. Saw them once in a basement in Lansing, and it was the first time I ever saw an encore at a basement show. If response is positive I'll upload their other album.

Bone Awl is primitive black metal from somewhere in California. Raw as fuck, heavily influenced by Brainbombs, swedish d-beat, and Sacrofago. This is their newest full-length release, Meaningless Leaning Mess. I strongly recommend lighting up a fat joint and throwing this bad boy on and embracing the pure chaotic noise that ensues. Powerful, grating, with bass like a chainsaw.

Lets Grow is a hardcore punk band from Belgrade, Serbia. They played their first show in May 2001. Their first release, Years Between Gatherings, came out as a 7" EP on US label 625 Thrashcore. In 2004, they released their second EP, Neverending Story for Californian label Know Records. The band also made some line-up changes and added a different approach to their sound. In 2004, they recorded a few songs for several compilations and in 2006 released their first full-length album, Disease of Modern Times for Refuse records/Thrashbastard records. This was also accompanied by a euro tour in 2007.

Mercyful Fate's first EP; also, King Diamond's original band. For any of you who don't remember them, fabulous Danish heavy metal. Not much really needs to be said about them; one of the most important bands in black metal and power metal. I'm also stoned as hell right now, so I'm not going to bother trying to explain much that isn't about "Married... With Children", which I would argue is the best TV show in american history. Were pop culture to be a pyramid, that show would be the silver tip up at the top, shining for hundreds of miles for all to see. Al Bundy would be standing at the top, pissing off the edge. Anywho, yeah, Mercyful Fate's first EP. Go dig it, get turned on to some metal. Think of it as a nice break from the three-chord, two-minute long anthems of punk rock that you can still bang your head and pump your fist to.

Ahh yes, Total Hipster Crusher. This band is rad. 5 songs of pure D.I.Y. Noisey grind from these guys. This is sure to fuck up your hearing for life if played at the right volume. These small town grindcore punks hail from mt. pleasant/alma, Michigan. Another interesting fact about them is, they are just a two piece band, which is pretty rare. I am putting out a MI. punk comp. and they are going to be on it. I will post that later though. I'd hope you all remember Hank Williams. you know, world's second most famous country musician, every song was about drinking beer or beating his wife?

Hank III is, no shit sherlock, his grandson. And sure enough, the rebel streak hasn't left his veins one bit; if anything, it's intensified. Mixing his grandfather, GG Allin, the Cramps, and a fuckload of drugs, Hank III has songs about smoking weed and taking oxycontin, beating off in bars, and, well, being a general scumbag. This is his "Straight to Hell" album, which is his more country work. He also has psychobilly and metal albums out there, but I like this the best.

FALL OF EFRAFA is a band based around a re-imagining of the mythological and political overtones in the book "watership down" by Richard Adams, focusing there efforts in forwarding atheist/animal rights ideologies. They write very long epic, heavy, melancholic, melodic songs, taking influence from post rock, post metal, ambient black metal,hardcore punk etc. Fall Of Efrafa is currently working on the final chapter of a trilogy of records known as "THE WARREN OF SNARES" - OWSLA, (meaning warrior or defender) the first record, created the narrative of an unnamed society in the final throws of a war against mankind. A society that still clings to the dwindling beliefs of its elders, yet struggles to break free of stagnating ideology. ELIL (meaning enemy, or predator)was there second full length and dealt with these beliefs, and the oppressive reign of religious indoctrination. In this chapter, the society finally overthrows the rule of their god, Frith. The final chapter, which they are currently writing, is called INLE (meaning both death, and the name of a deific character within the societies beliefs) This is the final recording effort of Fall of efrafa, and also the end of the trilogy. Damn when i was looking up information on this album, i see Crust Cracker has already beaten me to posting it! Damn you! hahaha Just kidding he has a great blow. Anyways, what i have found is this Swedish raw crusty d-beat band is awesome. Members from Human Waste, Mardrom ect. This album was released from Raw Noise Records in 2006. Super fast, short and to the point songs. I wish i knew what they were saying though, it all in swedish. I would recommend this band to anyone who's is a fan of obscure and raw d-beat. This is some good shit here, best d-beat band i have heard in a while.

V.A.- Swedish Assault (Compilation)

Excellent compilation! Here is a breaddown of how the CD goes. Sayyadina (7 songs) start out with a well working combination of fast hardcore and grindcore, with sometimes very interesting arrangements. Assel (5 songs) are much more basic, and play a very raw kind of old school hardcore. Not very technical at all, but has this primitive charm we have come to admire. Genocide Superstar (4 songs) finally got rid of the stupid SS abbreviation, and although they have been around for quite some time already, I don't know why they are on this CD. I like their rock'n'rollish Motörhead core sound quite a lot, but next to the other grind and crust bands, they seem to be a little out of place. The next two bands, Gadget (5 songs) and Birdflesh (8 songs) are more or less typical grind crust core. Well done, but nothing too extraordinary. Still good sounding stuff. Cult crusties Disfear (3 songs) finally end this excellent compilation album with much too few songs, but rather a few of their songs than none at all. Disfear cover a Zeke song, just so that you stay informed of the content of this CD.

Dystopia + Skaven Split

If you don't know who dystopia is then you have been missing out. This album is this shit! And in my opinion, one of the best dystopia albums. I don't think a lot of people know about this split. I haven't really seen it around to much, at least compared to there other albums. If you like this album, i have all there other albums on here, im not sure about there newest release but i know i have the other ones. With that said, enjoy!

Anal Cunt- I Like It When You Die

Here you have it folks, my favorite Anal Cunt album. The name says it all! Possibly one of the most politically incorrect band of all time. This album was originally supposed to be titled "you're gay" and the cover was supposed to be a mirror. But i guess it didn't go through. heir early material contained no pre-written lyrics or music. Rather, the band developed a style of creating a style which consisted of extremely loud, fast, and aggressive noise that was created entirely on the spot and was (by design) completely devoid of any actual music. Over the years, the band eventually shifted their style and slowly began to incorporate more riffs and pre-written lyrics into their songs. It wasn't until then that the band earned the reputation (at least via their recordings) for basically being anti-everything. Anyways, my point is, this is my fucking blog, and i will post whatever i feel like it on here. So if you have a problem with that, then stop coming here. Simple as that...

Both drummers blast spine wrenchingly fast, and are sure to blister those precious little ears right off!
